In a recent Australian Financial Review there was an article about the "The Power of Number Two", describing how to be a great second in command.

"Not so keen on footy or holding up the bar? Women and some men take note. Networks are key to scoring the best executive jobs. Women, especially working mothers, can be at a disadvantage because they often don't have the time to forge the strong business networks men do, bonding regularly around sport and beer."
